Virginia Invasive Species

Formed in 2014, the Blue Ridge Partnership for Invasive Species Management (PRISM) has quickly become a vital force in local efforts to manage invasive species in Virginia. The PRISM is focused on the ten counties that surround and include Shenandoah National Park. The partnership of private and public stakeholders has conducted neighbor-to-neighbor outreach and education, published fact sheets and a website, and won a large award of federal funds to assist private landowners with costs of controling invasive plants. In addition to building capacity to assist landowners in managing invasive species, the group is looking to stimulate similar partnerships around the state. Learn more here >>.
